Edwin, The air filter is a unique shape, and there are no aftermarket air filters that I know of. The shops here in the States want about 30$ for them. That's pretty outrageous for an air filter. I remember when I could by a foam air filter for a couple of bucks. I'm trying to think of a way to clean mine so I don't have to buy a new one every year. I was thinking of soaking my original air filter in some clorinated water and then letting it dry out. Don't know if it will work, but I've got nothing to loose. I could not find any aftermarket brake pads either. Another thing that is unique to the Savage is the belt size. You'll have to pay around 200$ for a new one. I found one in great shape through a salvage yard for 100$. Unfortunately for us bike enthusiasts, motorcycling is now a yuppie sport, and just like all other things the yuppies have gotten into, the price for things go up. Hope I didn't offend any yuppies out there. For you Europeans that don't know what a yuppie is, they are people in this country that have a great quantity of diposable income and jump from one fad to another. Right now in this country, Harley Davidson is enjoying tremendous growth because thousands of Yuppies have discovered motorcycling, which is great in a lot of ways, but the problem is these Yuppies only want the most expensive bikes and accessories and they put down others who can't or don't want to afford their brand of bike. The manufactures and after market business sense this great dissposable income and prices for riding gear, bike accesssories and bikes go way up. I don't even know the last time I saw an actual outlaw Harley gang, they just all seem to be urban proffessionals. this is not a put down to those Harley riders that are real bikers, I know there are still many that ride to ride and not to look cool. anyway, I think Karl must have set me off or something, because I'm rambling. Everyone, please ride safe.
